Dragon Alliance was born in 1993 in a garage in Capo Beach, CA, to the proud father Will Howard, with the aim to build a company that can create eyewear and accessories for active lifestyles and encompass his own passions for surfing, snowboarding, and riding dirt bikes. With the heat wave we have had this year I would have been lost without a decent pair of sunglasses, trying to enjoy a day out whilst squinting and shielding your eyes with your hand, let alone attempting any kind of sports activity. The Drac range are comfortable as well as stylish (so rarely do the two go together), these Italian-made, lightweight frames have a universally flattering shape and a timeless, minimalist style. We received the Matte Black edition with polarised Silver Ion Lenses.

These have been thoughtfully made for life by the water thanks to the H20 Floatable frame, these frames have been constructed with an injection-moulded thermoplastic with a lower density H2O material that allows these sunglasses to float. This means you are safe using them in the pool, on the boat, at the beach, I mean you can totally still lose them but if they get knocked off by a wave the won’t immediately sink out of view, giving you a much better chance at retrieving them. The lenses are hydrophobic and oleophobic meaning they actively repel water, dirt, dust and oil, however they will still receive the odd thumb mark but a quick rub with the lens cloth will get them looking their best. The hardcoating protects against scratches whilst the advanced Polarisation gives you clear and defined optics even in direct sunlight, they offer 100% UV protection and come in a medium style fit. I have quite a small head and this sizing seems accurate; they hold comfortably most of the time but if I get a little sweaty they will occasionally slip down my nose a little, the nose bridge isn’t adjustable and doesn’t feature any added grip, silicone for example which would be useful for high levels of activity and help to prevent marks being left on the nose. The Drac Matte Black look awesome in most situations making these sunglasses a versatile, stylish and practical choice on sunny days. RRP £160
