To start with, it is important to understand the DoubleNest LED is just the hammock, you will need to buy the straps separately to set it up and any fly sheet you may want to use alongside it. The DoubleNest LED adds a little bit of fun to the hammock, with festive integrated light strings which run along the opening of the hammock and feature bright, dim and strobe functions. The DoubleNest LED is lightweight, at only 24oz, without the 3 AAA batteries (not included) it requires to get the lights working, with a capacity of 400lb and as the name (and capacity) suggests it is suitable for two people and the heavy duty triple stitched seams will ensure a secure resting space.

The DoubleNest LED hammock is easy to assemble, it took us about 5 minutes, find two trees 10-12 meters apart, attach some straps 5 feet above the ground, attach the strong aluminium wiregate carabiners to the straps, adjust for comfort and voila now just sit, relax and take in your surroundings. When you are done with the hammock simply unhook it and cram it all away into the integrated compression stuff sack for compact storage. The DoubleNest LED is made from a breathable, quick drying, 70D High Tenacity Nylon Taffeta and is best suited for out of the car camping, festivals or more simply, soaking up some garden rays.

On a personal note, I would have liked to have seen more variety in the colour choice as there are only two options to choose from whereas there are over 40 different colours in the regular DoubleNest Hammock. I’m not sure the lights are worth the extra £20 as I could peg on some battery fairy lights for a similar effect for less than £10. Having said that, the DoubleNest LED hammock is a strong and compact little hammock, great for lazing about, therefore we would recommend saving yourself £20 and getting the original ENO DoubleNest Hammock for fun in the sun this summer.
